Repeat Prescriptions

The Doctor will issue repeat prescriptions for patients on long term medication and indicate how often you should come for review. If you need a repeat prescription, please give as much notice as possible.

Subject to necessary reviews we will always provide repeat prescriptions from the practice within 2 working days but prescriptions will normally be ready for collection sooner.

The pharmacy will also need time to issue your drugs. Requests for repeat prescriptions are accepted by post, Fax 01980 625530  between 10.00 and 12.00 each working day or leave the request at reception.

You may ask for your repeat prescription to be collected by an Amesbury or Durrington pharmacy.

Please note we will not provide repeat prescriptions over the telephone.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
